 Uitvoering Wipkip

How to Perform the Wipkip

  1. Start with the ball just in front of your standing foot.
  2. Use the sole of your playing foot to pull the ball slightly backwards.
  3. As soon as the ball moves just behind your standing foot, use the instep or toe of your playing foot to flick it upwards.
  4. Lift the ball in a small arc over the defender’s foot and accelerate past the opponent.

Coaching Points

  • Keep the movement quick and compact.
  • The first touch with the sole should be short and controlled.
  • Time the upward flick as the ball moves behind the standing foot.
  • Use enough lift to clear the defender’s foot without sending the ball too far away.
  • Accelerate immediately after the flick to take advantage of the space created.
